Yes. The workflow and agent engine and every connector are Apache 2.0, free to self-host and use commercially. Enterprise features such as SSO, audit events and the embedded edition live under a separate ByteChef Enterprise License, and the cloud plans start with a free trial.

One Docker command starts ByteChef with an embedded H2 database, so there is nothing else to install. For persistent deployments use the Docker Compose file with PostgreSQL, or the Helm chart on Kubernetes.

ByteChef ships 277 pre-built integrations covering CRMs, communication tools, databases, file storage, AI providers and more. Any REST API without a connector is reachable through the HTTP Client action.

An agent can use any of the supported LLM providers with your own API key, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, or a local model served by Ollama with no key at all. Models are configured once per environment and shared across workflows.
